Pine Lodge short stay school success!

Congratulations to the team at Pine Lodge Short Stay School who have been awarded runner up in the Cheshire West and Chester Directorate awards for ‘team of the year’. This follows on from receiving an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted Judgment in October 2012.  Ofsted Lead Inspector, Eric Craven, found pupils’ achievement, the quality of teaching, the behaviour and safety of pupils and the leadership and management of the school were all outstanding.

The team, which specialises in removing barriers to achievement and improving the life chances of vulnerable young people, offer a fantastic curriculum delivered creatively and sensitively to meet the needs of young people with acute mental health problems, for the duration of their stay in our in-patient setting.

The in-patients consistently achieve despite experiencing problems such as bipolar, anorexia and psychosis.

Led by Head of Centre Liza Ashworth, every single member of the team, from the teachers, to the bursar and family support worker, are all dedicated to delivering the highest quality outcomes.  It was an honour to be nominated and then receive runner up award for ‘team of the year’ in recognition of all their hard work.
