East Cheshire CAMHS and Young Advisors

CWP East Cheshire CAMHS are working in partnership with Cheshire East Council and the Children’s Society to establish a group of 30 Young Advisors.  Young Advisors is a national charity that trains young people aged between 15 and 21 to work with community leaders and decision makers to show them how to engage young people in community life, decision making and improving services.

Over the next few weeks the young people working with CWP East Cheshire CAMHS will take part in three days of Young Advisor accredited training which will teach skills such as:

  • service appraisal
  • youth proofing
  • presentation skills
  • project planning
  • group leadership

This is an amazing opportunity both for CWP East Cheshire CAMHS and the young people who, once trained, will become a Gold Standard Young Advisors Group who are able to be commissioned for their work by other partner agencies.
