CWP’s East Cheshire CAMHS raise awareness on World Mental Health Day

CWP’s East Cheshire CAMHS ‘Crew’ is a group of young people who are passionate about improving mental health services for children and young people, working hard to raise mental health awareness within their community and challenging mental health stigma, especially within the school environment.

On the 10th October, World Mental Health Day, 10 young people from the group are visiting three schools across East Cheshire where they will be giving a presentation to students and staff.  They will be speaking at a whole school assembly as well as to year groups from Years10-13, talking about mental health myths and facts, challenging stigma, and giving information about where to get help and support.

This is a big day for the CAMHS ‘Crew’ who have met the challenge of raising mental health awareness within schools and, with more schools asking for our group to visit later on in the year, we know that this will be a huge success!
