Cheshire CAMHS -11 million takeover day – 23rd November 2012

Friday 23rd November 2012 is an exciting day for Cheshire CAMHS services as we take part in the Children’s Commissioner’s national annual event “Takeover Day”.

Six young people from across Cheshire will be joining us for the day, two from West Cheshire and four from East Cheshire.  They will be representing Cheshire CAMHS at the Cheshire West & Chester Children’s Trust where they will raise awareness of the stigma and issues associated with mental health that young people can face in their every day lives.  They will also spend some time at our Crewe CAMHS clinic, producing a video which will show young people what it is like to visit CAMHS.  They will interview members of staff to find out more about their jobs and will also share their own experiences of accessing the service.

In the afternoon the six young people have been invited to meet with our senior managers at our main head office, Trust Board, in Chester.  They will continue with their film making and have prepared some questions to raise with the people that make decisions about the services they receive in their own communities.
