There are three Learning Disability CAMHS teams in Cheshire one based in Ellesmere Port, one in Macclesfield and one in Crewe.

East Cheshire’s Learning Disability CAMHS team is a community based, specialist service, offering support to children, young people and families/ carers across East Cheshire.

The team based in Macclesfield offers services to young people and families whose G.P is in Macclesfield, Poynton, Wilmslow, Handforth, Congleton, and Holmes Chapel.

The team offer the following services

  • behavioural , health, sleep and mental health assessments

  • behavioural advice and interventions

  • 1:1 work with families based on individual needs

  • advice, support and training to families/carers and professionals

  • telephone consultations and advice

  • ‘Signposts’ for building better behaviour – evidenced based parent program

Making a referral

Referrals to the team can be made by anyone involved with the young person including parents/carers, GP, school nurse/school staff or health professionals.  The East Cheshire team support children and young people from the ages of 0-18 years of age.
